SecureIT 2011 Beta Update #2

Greetings from the SecureIT Product Team!

We would like to announce the release of Update #2 for the SecureIT 2011 beta.  This update will be automatically downloaded and applied if you are a current beta tester, with no need to reinstall or reboot.

This release brings with it several features including:

  • During installation, if a previous anti-virus needed to be uninstalled, the SecureIT installation will now automatically resume at the system requirements check after reboot.
  • If a SecureIT service gets completely disabled for any reason, checking its corresponding box in the General Settings tab will now re-enable and restart the service.
  • Active connections within the firewall will automatically refresh.
  • The “Enable Windows Update” function now works properly when the Windows Update service is not running.
  • Performance improvements in the management console and other services.
  • Various wording and minor bug fixes.

With this version, we have seen a couple of machines that generate an error that SCFileMonitor has stopped working, which may cause the PC to lock-up temporarily.  This has already been addressed by the development team and a permanent fix will be included in our next update later this week.  If you see this or any other errors in the meantime, please post on the community forum.

Thanks again to all current beta participants!  If you’d like to join the beta testing team, please sign up at www.secureitcommunity.com.
